There were a few days this past week that I could feel the warm weather waiting to break in. Spring is right around the corner, but, sadly, it dipped back into being cold again, it looks for the next week. Well, I guess that means it’s the perfect timing to share my favorite Warm Cocoa Rose Milk.

I don’t know about you, but I like a warm beverage all year round. In the midst of a bustling world, there exists a simple pleasure that transcends seasons and soothes the soul: sipping on warm beverages. While many reserve such delights for the colder months, the truth is, there’s just something cozy and comforting in the joy of savoring a warm drink. It offers a moment of tranquility in a world that often feels chaotic and unpredictable, making it a delightful ritual to embrace all year round.

They say warm milk helps you sleep, so I think it’s a perfect little nightcap before bed. As you take that first sip, allow yourself to be enveloped by its warmth and richness, offering yourself a moment of self-care. Creamy milk intertwined with the subtle sweetness of cocoa nibs and beetroot balanced with a delicate floral essence of rose petals, this unique blend of ingredients is simpler to mix up than you might think. Nourish your body, mind, and soul by making this warm cocoa rose milk a part of your daily routine.

INGREDIENTS

  • Raw Cocoa Nibs: They say warm milk helps you sleep, but cocoa nibs can also help. Why? Because of the tryptophan and magnesium found in raw cocoa nibs. Tryptophan is an amino-acid that the brain converts into serotonin, which can have a calming effect on the mind, helping to relax the body before falling asleep.

  • Oats: Contain tryptophan and are high in stress-reducing B6 and melatonin, another natural sleep aid. (But feel free to substitute your favorite milk or milk substitute).

  • Rose Petals: Slow down and smell/sip the roses – literally. Rose is a gentle, non-toxic, therapeutic herb and mood-elevating supplement used to treat insomnia, depressions, inflammation, stress, and menstrual cramps. A rich source of Vitamin C, the sweet petals are a powerful antioxidant that supports immune function and helps ward off colds and flu and can also help nourish the skin and promote a radiant complexion. By incorporating this cocoa rose elixir into your daily wellness routine, you can give your immune system the extra support it needs to stay strong and resilient. Rose petals have also been shown to help improve digestion and soothe pesky stomach troubles.

  • Beetroot: A great source of vitamins and minerals -- calcium, magnesium, lycopene, and iron can all aid in getting a better night’s sleep. Beetroot before bed is also used as a way to detox since it increases oxygen and improves blood flow throughout your body.

  • Ashwagandha: A natural adaptogen that can help you relax and may help you fall asleep faster, spend more time asleep, and experience better sleep quality.

  • Ginger and Nutmeg: Calming spices that can help calm nerves, release serotonin, improve sleep quality, and aid in digestion.

  • Vanilla: Can help reduce hyperactivity and restlessness, quiet the nervous system, and lower blood pressure – all of which may help relieve tension, calm the mind, and help you fall and stay asleep better.

  • Raw Honey: Helps your brain release melatonin, the hormone that your body uses to restore itself during sleep, as well as providing an easy-to-access fuel (aka your liver’s glycogen) for your brain throughout the night so you don’t wake up to hunger.
