Hi friends!!

I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be doing a baking class LIVE with The Tour Guy this Saturday, April 18. During this class, we’ll be making a Blackberry Clafoutis with Lemon Crumble and Manatawny Maple Whiskey Ice Cream. Who doesn’t love boozy ice cream?! It’s also all gluten free, but you’d never know it. YUM!

If you don’t know what “clafoutis” is, prepare to be enamored. A simple batter made from not much more than heavy cream, sugar, eggs, and a smidgen of flour (buckwheat in this gluten free case) poured over whatever fruit de la saison you prefer turns into an unctuous, creamy custard-like sophisticated and elegant cake when baked. One bite and you’ll be hooked. I’ll post the recipe after the class.

All my PA peeps hopefully know of the great Manatawny Stillworks. But for anyone who doesn’t, Manatawny is a state-of-the-art distillery of the highest quality, small-batch spirits handcrafted in Pottstown, Pennsylvania right on the same banks where natives drank. First named by the Lenape Indians Man’en’tau’wata’wik, meaning “the place we meet to drink”, they are proud to still uphold that meaning today. In my humble opinion, their spirits are some of the best to boot.

And if you don’t know The Tour Guy yet, “he” is a European and US-based small group tour company (offices in Rome, Paris, & Philadelphia) composed of a whole team of passionate and friendly humans spanning the globe. To help support the ailing hospitality industry, The Tour Guy has partnered with BigMarker to launch Live Virtual Cooking Experiences . These virtual experiences bring award-winning local and International chefs straight into your kitchen for an hour-long, live, interactive cooking class. When else would you get the opportunity to cook at home with a James Beard Foundation Award semi-finalist (Ari Miller) or one of Food & Wine Magazine's Best Chefs (that’s me!) AND ask questions, in real time, about the dishes they are making? Can you tell I’m super honored they asked me to be one of the first?!

See you at 5pm this Saturday, April 18!! To bake along with me, visit The Tour Guy website. If you can’t join me, please reshare this post and spread the word to help save our beloved restaurant and hospitality industry. Wine and whiskey not included, but highly encouraged.
